I don't care what anyone says, I don't want my friend using marijuana! If that is so, then you should support the effort to legalize it. Many studies show that marijuana is easier to obtain than alcohol or cigarettes for minors. (1)(2) This is for a simple reason. To obtain alcohol, minors must first find someone that is of legal age and is able to purchase alcohol. Many times it is hard to find someone willing to purchase alcohol for a minor. To obtain marijuana, all a minor has to do is ask a drug dealer. They will not be asked for id, and can get the drug right from the source, instead of through someone that is of legal age. The legalization of marijuana would take it off the streets and put age restrictions on it, making it harder to obtain for minors. Sources:1.
